How to Enable JavaScript
The following instructions describe how to set JavaScript options for:
AOL 4/5
- Click My AOL.
- Click Preferences.
- Click WWW.
- Click the Secutity tab.
- Click Custom.
- Click Settings.
- Scroll down to locate Scripting.
- Click Enable for Active Scripting.
- Click OK, then click the Reload button.
Internet Explorer 5.x
- Open Internet Explorer.
- Select Internet Options from the Tools menu.
- In Internet Options dialog box select the Security tab.
- Click Custom level button at bottom. The Security Settings dialog box will pop up.
- Under Scripting category enable Active Scripting, Allow paste options via script and Scripting of Java applets
- Confirm actions and click Refresh or hit F5.
Internet Explorer 5.x for MacOSX
- Open Internet Explorer.
- Select Preferences from the Explorer menu.
- Click the arrow next to Web Browser.
- Click Web Content.
- Under Active Content check Enable Scripting.
- Confirm actions and click Refresh.
Internet Explorer 6/7
- Select Internet Options from the Tools menu.
- Select the Security tab at the top of the Internet Options window that pops up.
- From the list of zones at the top of the Security options select the internet icon.
- Select the button near the bottom that reads Custom Level.
- In the new window that pops up, scroll down to the item that reads Active Scripting.
- Select the option marked Enable.
- Confirm actions and click Refresh or hit F5.
Mozilla Firefox 1/2
- Select Tools/Options from the main menu.
- Select Content button from the top row of options.
- Make sure "Enable JavaScript" is checked.
Note: You may wish to install the NoScript extension for Firefox to control which sites can run JavaScript.
- Confirm actions and click Reload or hit F5.
Netscape 6/7 (Mozilla 1.0)
- Select Edit/Preferences from the main menu.
- Click on the Advanced label displayed in the list of options on the left hand side of the Preferences window
- On the right hand side select the checkbox marked Enable Javascript for Navigator.
- Confirm actions and click Reload or hit F5.
Opera 8/9
- Select Tools/Quick Preferences from the main menu.
- Make sure "Enable JavaScript" is checked.
- Click Reload or hit F5.
Safari 1/2
- Select Preferences from the Safari menu.
- Select Security tab at the top.
- Check both Enable Java and Enable JavaScript.
- Confirm actions and click Reload.
